2015 Holiday Gift Guide | Beauty

The holiday season is here and, if you're like me, you've only just started your shopping. Maybe you love the thrill of shopping last minute or maybe you're just a procrastinator... But if the reason you're leaving the shopping 'til last is because you're not sure what to get the people in your life, I'm here to help. And, of course, we're starting with beauty.
It's a staple of the holiday season and it's made my list, too. That's right, we're talking about perfume. This one can be a bit tricky, as many people are particular about what scents they like. If you can, do a little snooping-- very, very little snooping-- and see what scents the giftee already owns. If they are low on one, buy them a replacement. Otherwise, see what kinds of scents are most popular in their collection and try to find a similar one. If you don't have that option, don't fret. Jo Malone fragrances are nice and luxurious and they have plenty of wonderful scents to choose from. Or you could buy a rollerball set-- your giftee will appreciate the variety.
If you know that your giftee is into makeup, your options are endless. You could browse the gift set selection at your local Sephora or Ulta. Most brands come out with sets and palettes for Christmas that are not only a great way to try out some new products, but a good value as well. If you're wanting to get something a bit more personal, I think a MAC eyeshadow palette is worth looking into. I have the 15-pan palette, but you can also get quads and duos. The nice thing about this gift is that you've taken the time and put thought into what colors you choose.
Another option for the makeup maven in your life is a brush set. There are pre-packaged brush sets you can choose from, or you can put together a little collection of you own. Some great brands that have both options are ZOEVA, Real Techniques, and ELF. Plus there are options for any price range! You could even put those brushes into a makeup bag for double the thoughtful fun. Throw in a couple of nail polishes for a really exciting gift bag.
If you are really stuck and you don't know what kind of makeup your partner, friend, or family member would be interested in, you can always gift them a subscription to a makeup service like Ipsy or Birchbox. For ten dollars a month, they will receive products like lipstick, eyeshadow, skincare items and even tools like brushes and tweezers.
