I know I keep talking about autumn, but wow. I just can't believe it's already here. The hills here are already spotted with reds, yellows and oranges, and leaves are already piling up in my yard. This weekend has been chilly and rainy, but sometimes those are the days when I sit back and relax the most.

I finished Mindy Kaling's new book, Why Not Me?, and started on The Girl on the Train. You know, the book you've seen on a thousand blogs. If you've ready Mindy's first book, I definitely recommend you pick this one up. I have so many books on my shelves that I have yet to read but, as I said in my autumn goals post, I'm hoping to get several of them read this fall.

Remember how I said I was starting a journey towards health and fitness? That has actually been going pretty well! I've been working out every morning and making myself delicious (and nutritious!) smoothies. I also fixed what is possibly the most delicious turkey burger known to man-- and trust me, I'm not a cook, so that is pretty amazing. But Gordon Ramsay believes in me, so I believe in me. That's my new life motto.

It seems like it has been raining for months here in West Virginia. Every day for at least the past two weeks-- probably longer-- we have had rain. The weather finally let up on Friday, and it was totally in honor of my friend's wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony in the garden of a gorgeous historic house by the river. It almost made me want to get married-- you know, if I had anyone to get married to. Eternally single, right here. Maybe one of these days I'll pull a Sue Sylvester and marry myself; I really just want the dress and the ceremony, anyway.

Monday, the soon-to-be-married Candice and I recorded the latest episode of our West Virginia Game Changers podcast. We interviewed filmmaker and former professor Sam Holdren. If you are interested in filmmaking, in West Virginia and beyond, I recommend giving it a listen.

Sunday Chatter | 07.12.15

Whew. This next week is going to be a busy one, so I'm glad I have a day to sit back and relax before it begins. Tomorrow I'll be working and recording a couple of interviews for mine and Candice's podcast, West Virginia Gamechangers. On Tuesday and Wednesday I will be prepping some blog posts and, of course, working. Thursday and Friday I will be in wedding mode, helping Candice prepare for her big day and then attending it. I'm so excited for her and happy to be included in her big day.

This morning I went to the local farmer's market and got some yummy fruits and vegetables. I love local foods and supporting my area. Now, as is my Sunday ritual, I am sitting out on the front porch with my cat and my computer watching the birds.

Over the next few weeks, I'm going to be introducing new types of regular blog posts that you can come to (hopefully) expect and enjoy weekly. The first of these new posts is the Sunday Chatter, where I'll literally just be chatting with you guys about what's going on in my life, my favorite blog posts of the week, and other interesting things I find along the way.

This morning-- nearly afternoon-- I'm sitting on my front porch watching nearly twenty golden finches flutter about with some other birds mixed in. This is my regular routine on Saturday and Sunday mornings: grab a cup of coffee or some tea, maybe a book, and watch the birds outside with my cat. Yes, I am a senior citizen living in a 25 year old's body.

I get ridiculously excited when a new type of bird finds its way to my house. It's so relaxing to gaze at them and try to identify them and learn their calls. It kind of makes me feel like Snow White-- just a little bit.

I'm excited to post the next 'chapter' of my Spiritual Series tomorrow and I hope it is something new and interesting that you haven't seen on many blogs before. Now that I have strayed from having a set blogging theme, I feel so much more inspired with what I post. I will still be posting a lot of beauty reviews and information, but I think having some more personal posts mixed in will be fun also.
