Sunday Riley Good Genes and Luna Review
9:01 AMI've never been one to really look after my skin. Until I hit my mid-twenties, I was one of those lucky people who never had to. My skin was normal, I had very few breakouts, and my rosacea didn't bother me as much because, honestly, I was tan and that reduced it's appearance. But in my early twenties I started birth control, along with a handful of other various medications, and began working jobs that obviously required me to be inside for most of the day. My skin reacted-- and bad. I began getting cystic breakouts on my chin, my skin was so dry it was like the Sahara, and my rosacea looked so much worse on my now-paler skin.
So I finally started looking into skincare. I won't delve to deeply into that-- my skincare journey and routine will be another post that I hope to make soon. What I want to talk about are two products that I didn't want to love-- they are outrageously expensive-- but that ended up making my skin look the best it has in years.
Thank you, Sunday Riley.
I first heard about the brand's Good Genes treatment through YouTubers Tanya Burr and Zoella. Tanya mentioned that it got rid of all of the little bumpy-somethings on her forehead, something I was also dealing with. Both of them mentioned how it had made their skin softer and smoother, so when Sephora offered a deluxe sample of the stuff, I made sure to get one with every purchase I made for the next month. It worked; it made my skin a little brighter, a little smoother, and a tiny bit less red. I was impressed enough that I saved my money and bought the full-size at a whopping $105.
Along with rest of my skincare regimen, things were looking up. And then HeyClare happened. In one of her videos she talked about the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil, and said that it had completely transformed her skin overnight. And then Sephora offered a deluxe sample of it-- and it was pretty deluxe. I've used it almost daily for the past month and I still have a bit left. It really has changed my skin. My skin is way brighter and smoother, and the redness has diminished so much that foundation is a choice and not a requirement on most days. My skin glows, which is something I haven't been able to say since high school. Unfortunately, it is also $105, so I am debating on whether I will be able to purchase the full size anytime soon. I want to, but choices, man.
If you have the money to spend, I do recommend these products. If you already have pretty good skin, I wouldn't worry with them, but if you have crazy and unpredictable skin (like mine), they can definitely be worth the money.
Have you tried these products, or other items from the Sunday Riley brand? What do you think?
